hi there. i’m not in halifax right now but i will be there at the end of the month for hwf at which i will be preforming as myself and i’m very excited about that, i dont have a tumblr where i would want to post this sort of thing and i feel like more people will see it if i just post here anyway. basically, i too would like to have more conversations about my house (the burrow). it seems that my choice to live there and to be a part of the family that resides within is confusing and somehow hurtful to some of the people i love and care about.

  in the past i have been ignorant of exactly what everyones beef was, but during the winter it all became quite clear for me through several conversations, i felt a little embarrassed for defending something i really didn’t know a lot about (the instance when the burrow endorsed rape culture by allowing a perpetrator into its space) and my personal failure to learn about my houses history before defending it is the thing that i feel i need to apologize for.

   only a handfull of people know me, and i like it that way. but with hwf coming up i feel that i may need to put myself out there a little bit so that some people can feel a little more comfortable sharing a space with me, not that i really give a shit about what an almost complete stranger thinks about me as an individual, but that stranger might be important to someone i love, and this problem is much much bigger than that i guess.. thats why i’m using my voice  i hope that i articulated that in a way that can be understood. 

yes, so where i stand now is here. i acknowledge the mistakes of my house in the past and wish to be accountable to the people who i love and maybe the people who i may know in the future, basically i’d like to  talk honestly with whoever wants to talk to me. i’d also like it to be known that i have no qualms with the way that the burrow exists today knowing that all of this is a work in progress, i see the steps that have been taken but the steps ahead are a little dark and blurry.  if you feel that i you can shine a light on these for me then please know that i’m easily convinced by honesty and calm and very willing to listen. yah. email me at iambeyon@gmail.com or talk to me when i get home from providence.
